Hello there, it’s the beginning of 2025 and I’m moving my portfolio/website from my old platform to the new one. Therefore it is a good time for some tidying, redesigning and rethinking how I want my website to look.
The old portfolio was pretty neat. Clear to read, full of my favourite and best work, pretty easy to navigate. A good website which showcased what kind of work I did and what kind of work I wanted to do in the future.
However, I was missing a place where I could lose the neatness and show more art that is so dominant in my life but does not fit into a mould of a “good portfolio”.
Of course, social media might be a good answer to that. But I was never much into social media train. Instagram was the only site that I ever truly committed to and stayed with me for longer. I use Instagram still but over the years it changed into a tool for promotion and marketing. The place where I can show my work-in-progress videos, behind-the-scenes and have quick access to people who observe my art journey. Kind of  an information board. So no, Instagram was not an answer to that.
I needed a place where I could share art, new and old, unfinished, experimental. A place which is an answer for potential clients who want to see more. Those who are not satisfied with neatly selected artwork and wonder what else I can do.
I hope this will be the place. My not-so-neat shelf – where I stack some old, forgotten, unfinished paintings, and that you can browse through them from time to time. Like an old sketchbook, a small memoir.
I don’t plan to write much (this is probably the longest post it will be here). Mostly I will post artwork with small commentary.
Enjoy!
